The Cloud Architect keeps a helicopter view of the Cloud landscape and merges these into a easy to understand and simple overview that is easy to understand and that is maintainable. It is a mix of technology, functionality and a vision tailored to the customer business. The architect understands all technologies in the mix very well and is capable to ‘code with the best, not being the best’.
A quick overview of your potential new job
We work in teams on building our own managed service portfolio on top of Cloud and on-premise technology. From Functions and Lambdas into containers running on our network switches. It is all software-based infrastructure and services. The Cloud Architect is part of the team either building for ourselves or building for our customers.
Every day you will:
- bring compute, networking and storage into a single overview outlining a solution architecture for customers;
- quickly brainstorm solutions on the whiteboard and help getting into a helicopter view of what needs to be achieved;
- keep involved into technology by defining small proof of concepts or finding small pieces in the project;
- define and build a vision on (part of) the products and help moving this to success;
- be a part of the teams to design and implement our projects;
- be a part of the architecture team that is providing quarterly guidance for Matrixmind;
- join product definition sessions and customer architecture brainstorms.
The Cloud Architect role can grow into a senior position over time for which seniors mostly specialize on specific business types or branches like utilities, healthcare, finance, government.

Qualifications
This is you
- At least 7 years of experience in IT and 2 years working as an architect.
- Deep knowledge about at least two hyperscale clouds.
- Ability to make designs that span clouds and on-premise.
- Capability to present solutions to customers and to the teams.
- Hands-on experience, at least one programming language.
- Usage of service based solutions in practice using Kubernetes, Functions/Lambda or any other serverless cloud service.
- Experience in software, hardware and solution design including standard architectural patterns.
- Speaking English and have a good understanding of Dutch is recommended.
