Job Description

In your role as Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the optical networks that form the backbone of our infrastructure. Not only will you specialise in optical networks, you will also be involved in layer 2 network management and support our network engineers in complex challenges.

Working at Eurofiber means you will be working with cutting-edge technology from Huawei and Nokia. Knowledge of these platforms is a strong advantage and will give you a head start in performing your tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing optical networks and systems.
  • Maintaining and optimising existing optical infrastructures.
  • Perform network measurements and analyses to monitor and improve performance.
  • Support network engineers in layer 2 activities.
  • Document network configurations and changes.
  • Participate in on-call and standby services to ensure the continuity of our networks.

Qualifications

What we require:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of optical network technologies and protocols.
  • Experience with designing and implementing DWDM and CWDM systems.
  • Experience with layer 2 network management.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call and standby services.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
