A quick overview of your potential new job
As a Private Cloud Engineer you will work on the automation and renewal of our VMware infrastructure and you are also responsible to keep the infrastructure up and running and to improve it.
What are other responsibilities?
- You ensure continuity, but you also focus on the security and compliance of the VMware hosting platform.
- You will also work on the automation and renewal of our VMware infrastructure.
- You actively give direction to the roadmap and determine together with the team and the stakeholders how the environment can be continuously improved.
- You translate business requirements in high performant and cost-efficient designs.
- You create your pipelines and make sure best practices are followed.
- You are able to create a required script from scratch.
- You will be involved in complex technical issues, automation, scripting and coding.

Qualifications
This is you
You will have:
- experience with VMware technologies, including ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Director and vRealize Suite;
- experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments, knowledge of VCF is a strong plus;
- software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Perl and PowerShell;
- strong computing fundamentals on HCI solutions like VxRail or other VSAN ready hardware;
- networking background, with knowledge of related protocols and technologies (e.g. BGP, VRF, IP, TCP, UDP), as applied to a data center context;
- an out of the box way of thinking and a pro-active attitude;
- strong communications, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
